Watercolor on 300 lb paper, 13” x 20”

Sailing ships have always intrigued me with their long history and magnificent presence. I was inspired to paint a watercolor of a ship with the sails lowered, and complex rigging visible as it passes the coastline. Is the crew leaving on a new adventure, or returning to port laden with treasure?
